This past weekend I was playing in two low stake MTT tournaments with a short stack when another player started berating me for folding so many hands in a row with the short stack.
I waited patiently until I got A-A and started typing "why don't you call my all-in?"
The trash talker folded both times to my all-in however both times my A-A was cracked by K-K and 10-10 sets...but thankfully my chat was blocked by my all-in...
I never berate other players while I'm playing and was hoping to exact some revenge by letting my cards do the talkin'...
It makes me laugh when guys start talkin' trash in a $1.10 MTT that I won entry in with points...
I usaully try and tell a few jokes and have some laughs while grinding online...
I'm kind of like Chris Leben, the UFC fighter who seems to wake up and start fighting after taking a left hook on the chin...
I used both loses to motivate me in my next MTT and finished in the money in the 5K GTD and turned 100 points into 11 tournament dollars with entry into The Dime 10K GTD on UB.
When A-A gets cracked 2x in one day, it may have put me on tilt in the past...but this is where BR management and a cooler mind pre-vail...something I hope to improve upon as I finish up my first year of online play in October.
How do you handle trash talk? (other than turning off the chat?)
Does it effect your play?
